Join me for a guided walk through the Feira da Glória, one of Rio’s most vibrant open-air markets. As you explore the bustling stalls, I’ll help you select seasonal fruits, native herbs, & rare ingredients, sharing their history, cultural significance, and how they shape the world of Brazilian mixology. Then we’ll go to a bar where you’ll experience the artistry of one of Rio’s most innovative bartenders. • We’ll begin our 90-minute journey by meeting at the entrance to the Feira da Glória market for an overview of Brazil’s cocktail traditions and the importance of fresh, seasonal ingredients. • Next, we’ll take a guided walk through the market’s stalls, sampling fruits like cupuaçu, graviola, & caju, while learning about their cultural & role in Brazilian mixology. Together, the group will select fruits & botanicals to turn into a custom cocktail. •We’ll then walk to Surubar for a behind-the-scenes look at Brazil’s cutting-edge cocktail scene. Master bartender Igor Renovato will transform the handpicked ingredients into a signature cocktail. • You’ll end the afternoon with a private tasting session. You’ll learn how to use fresh ingredients at home during a free-flowing discussion. Food and cocktail lovers craving a personalized blend of history, culture, & world-class mixology, will leave this immersive journey with an appreciation for all Brazil’s flavors have to offer

Taste Rio’s flavors with an artisanal ice cream maker

I’m excited to welcome you to Sorvetiño, my ice cream shop in the iconic Copacabana neighborhood, where I’ll be bringing back the distinct flavors of our “Love Letter to Rio” Collection for this experience. • We’ll begin with a blind taste test of four unique carioca ice cream flavors, each inspired by a classic beverage from the city: mate with lemon, guaravita, caipirinha, and passionfruit batida. • After taking your guesses for each sample, I’ll reveal the flavors, and we’ll enjoy shots of the original drinks that inspired the frozen treats. Guests under 18 can participate, and instead of the alcoholic flavors, they will receive an extra portion of the two non-alcoholic options. At the end of the experience, you’ll choose your favorite flavor to take home with you, along with a Sorvetiño sticker and poster.

Join me, the chef at one of Brazil’s top Afro-Brazilian restaurants, as we set off on a culinary journey. My dishes honor the tradition of the orixás—the spirits representing nature's forces in Candomblé, an Afro-Brazilian religion. • We’ll begin with a tribute to Oshun, the goddess of love and beauty, as sacred rhythms performed by an Ogã help set the tone for a warm, spiritual experience. • Next, we’ll enjoy a refreshing drink while we learn how Afro-Brazilian cuisine connects tradition, spirituality, and storytelling. • After our brief history lesson, I’ll guide you as we prepare a dish that harkens back to Candomblé tradition, using ingredients rich in history and symbolism. Along the way, I’ll share personal stories of family, faith, and African heritage. • Finally, we’ll sit down for a communal meal. You’ll leave with new recipes, a deeper connection to Afro-Brazilian culture, and plenty of memories to cherish.

I’ll guide you through a tasting that reveals Brazil’s unique wine regions and varietals, sharing tips on tasting techniques. • I’ll welcome you with a Brazilian vermouth and an introduction to the country’s wine history and regions. From there, we’ll sample select Brazilian wines—from renowned labels to hidden gems—each with unique tasting notes. • As we go along, you’ll learn expert techniques to identify aromas, flavors, and textures to enhance each sip. • The wines will be paired with cheeses from São Paulo estates, allowing you to discover the harmonies between flavors. You’ll leave with a new perspective on Brazilian wine—along with a tasting booklet, pairing tips, and a mini bottle to take home.

Get to know Rio main attractions

In this experience, we will pick you up from your home* and take you to get to know the most important points of the city. We will begin immediately by visiting Christ the Redeemer (ticket included), to avoid queues and take the best photos; then the neighborhood of Santa Teresa, an artistic area with its exclusive tram and then the Selarón Staircase, one of Rio's most famous sights. From there we will go to the Metropolitan Cathedral, a unique building in downtown Rio. Afterwards, we visited Maracana Stadium from outside. We stop for lunch** * right after. After lunch we go to visit the Parque Lage. Parque Lage is a historic and cultural park located at the base of Corcovado Mountain in Rio de Janeiro. While it is an independent site with its own history and attractions, Parque Lage is part of the Tijuca National Park, a vast protected area that includes one of the world’s largest urban rainforests. At the end you have two options: we can take you back home or drop you off at Pão de Açúcar (Sugar Loaf) (ticket not included), where you can take a cable car up to the top of this magnificent hill. *Pick up and drop off in some areas of Rio's south zone. Foodies about town

This delicious introduction to food and drinks from around Brazil is unlike any other. Over the course of 4-5 hours, we'll eat and drink our way across the most interesting parts of Rio that most visitors never get to see. We'll start in one of Rio's bustling street markets, where we'll taste exotic fruits and street food dishes. After that, we'll head to my favorite Brazilian-Portuguese restaurant in Lapa for a taste of old-school Brazil, where the waiters dress in white jackets, and serve the most delicious salt cod croquettes in town. From there, we'll wander into Centro, the oldest part of the city to visit a secret foodie hotspot, a hole-in-the-wall serving classic boteco snacks (think Brazilian tapas). We’ll then take a short ride to Flamengo, where we'll taste the uniquely delicious regional dishes, first from Northeastern Brazil and finally from the Amazon. IMPORTANT: There is a different meeting point each day of the week and the Airbnb app is not able to handle this, so we will give you detailed information on how to get to the meeting point in a message after you book. ALSO: We generally do NOT serve feijoada or the rodizio style churrasco (all you can eat barbecue). But we can help you find the very best of both!

Backstreet bar-hopping & Brazilian tapas

We'll meet up in a lively bar in Lapa for a few drinks and some of Rio's famously delicious bar food. After visiting an ancient 'hole-in-the-wall' cachaça bar, we'll either head up into the North Zone or to Santa Teresa - in either case, we'll visit a couple of awesome little locals' bars. In each place we visit we'll have drinks - caipirinhas, locally brewed beers, cachaças and 'batidas' - as well as more food: traditional bar food snacks (think: Brazilian tapas) plus more substantial dishes. We'll visit gritty locals' bars and some fancier places too. Towards the end of the tour we'll return to the liveliest part of Lapa (packed full of bars, restaurants and samba clubs), or to a street samba event near the Port Zone. Here we'll finish up with a final drink and the guide will help you decide on the perfect follow-up activity, whether it be a bar, a samba club or just a taxi back to your hotel :) Other things to note: This tour focuses on traditional Brazilian drinking (and eating) culture, so it doesn't really work for people who only drink wine. Please come hungry and thirsty!

Though we focus on the culinary, you will also savor a distinct beverage at each stop. From beer and wine to home-made drinks and Caipirinhas. This culinary tour lasts 3 to 3.5 hours, depending on group size, with all food and drinks included in the price! Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
